Is There a Longer Pin Box To Replace a Lippert 1621 To Improve Cab Clearance
Question:
I just bought a 2018 f250 short bed 61/2’ and it is too close to the back of my 5th wheel. The pin number model is lipp1621, do they make a longer pin box? This one has about 19” from pin to 1st bolt. I have Jayco Eagle 27.5rlts. Thanks

It sounds like you are using a fixed fifth wheel hitch on a short bed truck therefore the cab to trailer clearance while turning is limited. The obvious solution would be to switch to a sliding fifth wheel hitch but I understand these are heavier and add an extra step. That said, I do have an option that will help to increase turning clearance. This however is done by moving the pivot point as extending the actual length of the pin box would not be advisable since you are changing the geometry of trailer which will affect capacity.
