We can absolutely get you set up with all the parts you need in order to flat tow your 2020 Chevy Traverse. You will need base plates, a tow bar, wiring kit, and supplemental braking system, and the best parts that will fit are the following:
- Base Plate Kit: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523200-5
- Tow Bar: Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-422
- Safety Chains: Roadmaster 80" Coiled Safety Cables # RM-653
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Wire to 6-Wire Straight Cord
Item # RM-152-98146-7
- Supplemental Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR
OR
- For a motorhome with air brakes: Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # DM26VR
The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates are great because they have removable tabs which means your Traverse is going to keep its clean look when you aren't flat towing, as you can see in the accompanhying photo. The BlackHawk tow bar is a great option because it has long arms which make it easier to maneuver when towing, and it is easy to connect and disconnect because it is a non-binding design.
The Flexo-Coil wiring kit is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback to keep your Chevy's electrical system safe, and both the Stay-IN-Play DUO and Air Force One are strongly recommended because they are one-time installs which will never require any type of removal or reactivation, and give you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. This results in much smoother braking than most systems which send out a pre-set amount of braking power and thus are more rigid.
I also recommend the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening # RM-4750 to keep rocks and other debris from hitting your Traverse while you are flat towing it. You may also need a high-low adapter such as # RM-070 in order to keep your tow bar level, and I've added a link to a help article which shows you how to determine if you need an adapter, as well as a link to our selection of adapters.
