Will the Replacement 12V DC Battery Breakaway Battery Fit on My Circle J Trailer

I have a circke J trailer that needs a replacement breakway battery. It is marked 6-MM-4 12V 4Ah. Will the HM20008 work as a replacement? The size of the 1250 is the same, maybe slightly smaller on the width. Thanks

The Hopkins Replacement 12V DC Battery, part number HM20008 should work with your breakaway kit. With this battery if your trailer has brakes on 2 axles or less the breakaway switch will function properly.

You should make sure it will fit in your breakaway unit (sounds like it will) and that the connectors are compatible with your units connectors. You can zoom in on the product picture and see the connectors very well by clicking on the link below the product picture.

The battery that you use for a break away system needs to be able to power the trailer brakes on full for 15 minutes. A 12 volt battery rated for 5 amp hours would work but if you had 3 axles each with brakes you would benefit more from a 9 amp hour…
