Tire for 2018 Grand Design Imagine
Question:
I have 2018 Grand Design Imagine Travel Trailer. Currently have Westlake 205/75R15 on the I think Aluminum Cheetah Trailer Wheel - 15 x 6 Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 – Silver - Item # LI94FR. If I wanted to upgrade tire to higher load rating and ply, could I put a 225 on that wheel and what are some tires you sell that would fit on that Cheeta wheel? I want to make sure I purchase the correct tires and dont put too much PSI on the wheel understand some wheels cant handle higher PSI. Thank You, Michael

While it is always a good idea to use the original equipment as a guideline, it's also always ok to go "up" in load range (C to D, D to E, etc.) Regarding PSI, you can only safely mount a tire that has a corresponding max PSI to that of the valve stem. Your Cheetah wheel's valve stem has a max PSI of 65, so the first thing I'd recommend is upgrading your valve stem to one that supports 80 lbs PSI, such as our part # AM20904 . The tire I'd recommend is the Westlake 225/75-15 E # LHWL304 . It has the largest load range (E) of all of the tires we sell that fit your wheel. This valve stem and tire combination should meet your needs while still using your existing wheels.
