Hitch and E-Bike Rack Solution for 2008 Toyota Prius
Question:
Hello there, I am interested in purchasing this towing hitch for my Prius, I own a harbor freight motorcycle carrier that I load my E bike on, I’m not concerned with exceeding the weight limit but my question is this, the cycle carrier is Designed for a 2 inch receiver hitch, can I use a 1 1/4 inch to 2 inch adapter without issue on this hitch? I am aware that This particular hitch has some sort of a stop point for Accessories that may exceed its limits for safety reasons, will this interfere with an adapter that I speak of?

For your 2008 Toyota Prius the Draw Tite Hitch part # 24808 is a confirmed fit and can be used to carry an e-bike rack but since hitch adapters cut the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent when they are used I can't recommend you go that route on an already lower capacity hitch and vehicle. Your best option is an e-bike rack that is Class I hitch compatible.
For a bike rack the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 would be a great solution that will fit this hitch directly as it is Class I hitch compatible. It also has a ramp built into it as well to make loading and unloading easier as well.
