Do Base Plates for 2020 Chevy Equinox Work With StowMaster 5000 Tow Bar
Question:
We have a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox that we purchased to replace our 2006 Jetta we used as our towed vehicle. The Equinox has a able AWD option. In normal operation 2WD is used. If we want AWD, we have to push the AWD Button I kept the base plates and the tow bar we used on the 2006 Jetta. My StowMaster tow bar has the number 5000 after Stowmaster. I assume my towbar has a 5000# rating as opposed to your listed Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar – Car Mount 2” Ball which has 6000# rating. My question is will the Roadmaster Cross-Bar Base Plate Kit RM-523193-4 be capable with my crossbar tow bar. On the Jetta I ran a wire, with a diode in-line from the power circuit on the RV’s 7-way plug to keep the Jetta’s battery charged. Will this same system work with the 2020 Equinox’s battery?

Yes, the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # RM-523193-4 that fit your 2020 Chevy Equinox will work with all Roadmaster tow bars, including your StowMaster 5000 tow bar.
In regards to the battery, you are correct with what you'll need to do in regards to the battery on your Equinox. For that you'll need charge line kits if you don't have them, the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75 and Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25.
