Frame Jack for Cargo Trailer That Fits Up To 6 Frame and Excellent Ground Clearance

Question:

I have a Legend Cargo hauler and I just wasted the factory jack and mount that was on it due to low clearance. I would to put on a bolt on jack that would require no drilling through the tongue which is 6. I cant find one. Any suggestions?? Tongue weight is not much. 1000pounds might be overkill. Top or side crank doesn't matter. Clearance does matter so it doesn't get snagged again and torn off.

I reviewed some choices which would meet your individual needs and were all non-electric, drop leg, and excellent ground clearance. There were a number of similar jacks, but only one that would mount to your 6” trailer frame.

I ordered one from the warehouse so I could check it out personally and measure it. I have attached a couple of pictures of the mounting brackets that I took today.

You will need the Fulton Marine # HD50000101 bolt on sidewinder jack with a drop leg. If you are not familiar with drop leg jacks, they have an inner leg that you can drop and pin at the closest height needed then crank the remainder of the way. This saves a lot of time cranking. This jack has excellent ground clearance. It is also zinc coated to withstand corrosion for a long time.

I have included a link to this page and to a video review.
