Green Light on Tekonsha PowerTrac is On Only When Headlights are on 2018 Nissan Frontier
Question:
Just installed with wiring harness to 2018 Nissan Frontier. The red light comes on whenever I press the brakes, but the green light only comes on with the headlights switched on. Green light goes out when I turn headlights off...

The red light being on when you press the brakes is normal for the Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller # 39523, and the green light should be on when you have a trailer connected. If it is not on then, and only when the headlights are on with your Frontier, it sounds like you have a short or a connector on your trailer that is possibly corroded, which can interfere with the signal and only get the power needed with the added amperage of the headlights being on.
I recommend checking your trailer connector specifically to see if it is somehow corroded or damaged and either clean it or replace it with # H20043.
Additionally, to prevent corrosion and increase the durability of your connector I highly recommend using Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors # 11755.
Finally, I have also added a link below to a help article on troubleshooting brake controllers for you to take a look at.
