Wiring a 7-Way Connector from a 4-Way
Question:
I’d like to change a 4 way flat to a 7 round. As you can see from the pictures included the flat has green, yellow, brown and white but as you can also see the brown wire from the flat has been connected to the red from the trailer because there are 5 wires from the trailer. Should I just leave the 5 wires connected to the 4 and cut off the flat plug and wire accordingly?

Yes, you will need to cut off the 4-way connector from your trailer and wire the 5 wires to a 7-way connector like # PK12706. Test the function of the wires before connecting them to the 7-way. Refer to the diagram attached below to place the wires in the correct position. Check out the video linked below for more details.
If you need to add a 7-way to your vehicle as well, let me know the year, make, and model on your vehicle and any existing connectors you have, and I can make a recommendation.
