Mounting a Winch on Front of 2017 Ford F-450 Super Duty
Question:
Im looking at the Westin MAX Winch Mounting Tray - Black Powder Coated Steel, Item # 46-23905. Im curious why the 2017 F-450 is not listed as a vehicle it will fit. Are there differences in the frame from the F-350 to F-450?

There is a way to mount a winch to the front of your 2017 Ford F-450 Super Duty, but the part you asked about is not a fit for your truck per the manufacturer. Trucks have different designs/frames like you mentioned, and your F-450 is different enough from similar Ford trucks that winch mounting tray won't work.
I checked with all of our manufacturer and there isn't a bull bar/winch mounting option so to mount a winch on the front of your 2017 Ford F-450 you will need a front-mounted hitch and a winch mounting plate that fits in the receiver. There are two front-mount hitches that fit your truck, and they are essentially the same in regards to installation and mounting so my recommendation is just to go with the less expensive option between the two:
- Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31078
- Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65076
Then you can use a winch mounting plate that fits in the receiver, the Curt Trailer Hitch Electric Winch Mount Plate # C31010.
I have added links below to some video reviews for you to check out as well.
