How To Get More Bed Clearance On A GMC Sierra 3500 When Using The Gen-Y Goose Neck Adapter

How many bolts are required on each side not getting enough bed clearance need to lower it if I do only 4 bolts per side

I contacted Gen-Y and they said if your original pin box had 6 bolts on each side then you should use all 6 for the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Pin Box - Lippert 1621, 1621 HD - 21K
Item # 325-GH-8045. I have a couple things you can try if you are having clearance issues on your 2020 GMC Sierra 3500. If the nose of your trailer is not sitting high enough you can use the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit for Ford, GM, and Nissan Titan Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Item # BWGNXA2061. This ball provides an additional 1" to 2" height. If the clearance issue is at the tailgate then your trailer sits too low at the axels and you may have to look into getting a lift on your trailer suspension. I recommend the Tandem Axle Lift Kit Item # RR23QX. This kit provides an additional 2-1/4" of ground clearance.
