If you're not getting any heat from your Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150CH, I suggest loosening the screws on the side to access the components of the unit. Then, turn the heat setting on and see if the heat strip is getting hot. I recommend getting an infrared temp gauge to check just in case it does get hot. I don't want you testing it with your hands because you could get a nasty burn. While doing these tests, I suggest hooking up to shore power to eliminate any other components on your RV from being the issue.
If you're seeing the same result, I would then recommend checking to see if the heat strip is getting power. If not, we will re-evaluate and see if you have a defective unit. If you are getting power then Inspect return air filter, clean if necessary, make sure air divider between return and supply has not came loose, inspect duct runs with flashlight and mirror for collapsed or a blocked duct run.
If the heat worked before, I can presume that you do not have a defective item and something just went wrong.

My unit that I just bought ,has smoke soot near it on the ceiling. AC and fan seems to work ok. So without pulling the cover, would I be able to replace the heating element if one is available ?
