Hitches and Recommendations for Towing a Pontoon Boat and 5 Bikes on a 2016 Honda Odyssey
Question:
hello, I have a 2016 Honda Odyssey and I am aiming for choosing the right hitch for towing a trailer with a pontoon boat or foundation for 5 bicycles including the bicycles... What is the match hitch? and what are the differences between Weight Distribution Towing Capacity and Towing Capacity?

The best hitch you can equip your 2016 Honda Odyssey with is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame, part # 75270. I've linked to a video installation of this hitch on a 2016 Odyssey. It's a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a maximum gross tongue weight of 675 pounds and a maximum gross trailer weight of 4500 pounds. With a weight distribution system added, that maximum trailer weight goes up to 5000 pounds, which leads me to your next question.
The maximum towing capacity is a reference to how much weight the hitch is capable of pulling behind it. The weight distribution towing capacity is how much weight it can pull behind it when a weight distribution system is added to it. An example of one is the Curt MV, part # C17062.
Keep in mind that you still need to consult your owner's manual for how much weight your vehicle can tow as that will more than likely be less than what the hitch is capable of.
If you plan on towing a trailer, then you will need a few things. They are a ball mount, a hitch ball, and wiring.
Which ball mount and hitch ball you need will depend the height of your trailer. I've linked to a help article that will help you determine this as well as our lists of ball mounts and hitch balls.
For wiring, I recommend the Curt T-Connector, part # C56378. It has everything thing you need to set up your trailer's lights. I've linked to a video installation of this harness on a 2013 Odyssey.
If your trailer has a 5-pole hookup, then you will need a converter. Part # 20036 will do the trick. I've linked to a video review of this converter.
Finally, for your bikes, we do offer a 5-bike rack. It's the Curt Premium 5 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Tilting, Item # C18065. It will hold 5 bikes by their frames. I've linked to a video review of this as well.
