2-1/2 Inch Shank for Eaz-Lift Weight Distribution Hitch
Question:
We have a Eaz lift weight distribution system with a 2 inch shank. When we upgraded our truck, it has a 2 1/2 inch receiver so we have been using a reducer for the receiver but we still dont like the play it has. Can we just replace the shank with a 2 1/2 inch or do we also have to replace the weight distribution head so it fits a 2 1/2 inch shank

Expert Reply:
You can go from a 2 inch shank to a 2-1/2 inch shank with your Eaz-Lift weight distribution system. Weight distribution shanks are essentially universal so you won't have any issues. You just need a shank that has the proper rise or drop you are require.
The options for 2-1/2 inch shanks are as follows, with the rise and drops listed the maximum for the shanks:
- Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 7" Rise, 3" Drop # EQ90-02-4700
- Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank - 13" Rise, 9" Drop # EQ94FR
- Curt Weight Distribution Shank - 6" Rise - 2" Drop # C17131
- Curt Weight Distribution Shank - 12" Rise - 9-1/4" Drop # C17132
