Adjustable Ball Mount for Ford Expedition Towing Boat Trailer

Question:

Hello! I have a 2013 Ford Expedition EL with a tow package. Total capacity is 9,200 lbs. I have a boat and trailer tandem axel with surge dual axel brakes with a total weight of 8,500 - 9,000 lbs depending on fuel. Furthest towing distance will be under 20 miles but my concern will be being able to adjust the hitch and/or rise to have the appropriate Tongue Weight and also have the trailer level for best stability. Any recommendations for my setup? I-beam aluminum trailer from EZ Loader. Ball size is 2 5/16”. Class IV hitch on the Expedition factory installed. Other question - Since I cannot add a weight distribution system to an I beam aluminum boat trailer, anything else you recommend to have the most stable and secure setup for highway hauling? Thanks!

If you went with an adjustable ball mount like the part # AM3410 you'd have ability to select the correct rise drop for your trailer to tow it level or if you determine the rise/drop you need I can recommend you a fixed hitch instead.

I attached a help article on determining the rise/drop you would need.

The part # AM3410 has the ball size you need, the weight capacity you need, and also can do up to 5-1/2 inches of drop.
