How To Haul 4 Bikes Without A Hitch On A 2017 Audi Q7

As I do not have a hitch I am looking for a bike roof rack solution. I am considering the Thule ProRide XT for my Audi Q7, 2017. Although I have done a lot of research, I can find out how many mountain bikes I would be able to fit on the roof. My goal is to fit two adult and two children bikes on there. Any advice you can provide would be helpful, thanks.

First, let's find you a roof rack. I like the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420 because of the aerodynamic look to them and you can add not only a wrap around accessory but also T-Slot accessories too! You will need to get the Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH460R and the Fit Kit for Thule Podium-Style Roof Rack Feet # THKIT3145.

You would then need 4 of the Thule ProRide XT # TH598004 to get all four bike on your roof. That will be pretty tight so you will have to have two bikes facing the back and two towards the front so the handlebars won't interfere with each other.

What I would do would be to get two of your bikes on the roof and then have the other two on a trunk mounted rack like the Yakima FullBack # Y02634. This way it won't be that difficult to load all the bikes, your kids could even load their own bikes on the FullBack! Some kids bikes may need an adapter bar # 64005 to fit.
