Question:

I have a class III hitch for a scooter lift on my 1995 Ford Ranger and the lift scrapes the street when getting out of driveway or on steep inclines. Would this adapter work on my class III hitch and would it hold the scooter and lift? large pride maxima scooter Thank you.

The Softride Hitch Adapter for 2 inch Receivers - 4 inch Rise, part # SR25748, is not designed for carrying any other accessory except the Softride bike racks. When you use an adapter, it will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. We do offer another adapter, the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with Receiver, part # D210. The unit has a 7500 lb towing and 750 lb tongue weight capacity, while the receiver portion has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity. As long as the weight of the scooter and the lift or carrier it is on is less than 350 lbs, this item should work great for you.
