Trailer Hitch Receiver and Towing Capacity for 2007 PT Cruiser
Question:
Hello, Can anyone tell me what the towing capacity is for my 2007 PT Cruiser? I am planning to buy a tear camper I think weighs about 950 pounds. Too heavy? Id like to hear your views! Thanks

According to the owner's manual I looked up online, your 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser has a maximum towing capacity of 1,000 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 110 lbs. You'l want to verify that in your copy of the manual, but so long as you meet those capacities you are able to tow.
There are two options for a trailer hitch receiver for your vehicle, the Draw-Tite # 24759 and Curt # C11132, and I highly recommend the Curt because it does not require drilling to install while the Draw-Tite does. Here are all of the parts you will need to tow with your 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser.
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11132
- Hopkins Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM11142435
- Curt Drawbar for 1-1/4" Hitches # C45520
- Pin and Clip # F-4
- 2" Hitch Ball # A-82 or 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # A-80
The hitch ball size will simply depend on the size of your trailer's coupler, though it is likely the 1-7/8" hitch ball for a small camper. I have added links to video reviews and installs for you to check out as well.
