Will Blue Ox BX8858 Hitch Lock Work With Curt Class III Trailer Hitch
Question:
Will this pin work with the curt 13343 trailer hitch? If it will, Great! If it wont, could you recommend a high quality locking hitch pin that will?

Expert Reply:
The Blue Ox # BX8858 will work great with your Curt Class IIl # C13343 hitch. As long as the lock you choose has a inside span greater 2-5/8 or greater, it'll work with a typical Class III or IV hitch like the Curt model you specified. The span on this lock is 2-3/4 inches, so it'll work perfectly.
Really, the only situation you'll run into where you'll need to be concerned if a given lock will work with a particular hitch is the factory Toyota hitch used on later model Tacoma or Tundra trucks.
The high security lock barrel used on the # BX8858 lock makes it more difficult to defeat than a lock that used a flat key, but you'll want to be sure to keep the lock well lubricated with air tool oil and be sure the protective cap stays in place.
