Can Tongue Weight Rating of Reese SteadiFlex Weight Distribution System be Lowered

I have the RP66559 which is 1,200 tongue weight, spring bar 800-1000 lbs. My actual tongue weight in use is around 450 to 500 lbs. I lose one spring bar and need a replacement and cannot find one. So will the Replacement Spring Bar Item # RP58501 Work? Its Tongue weight: 400lbs - 600 lbs.

We've had similar versions of this question in the past and what Reese has told us is that you can't just swap out the spring bars of the Steadi-Flex system to change the tongue weight rating as the heads are different as well. So since you have one bar lost and need a much lower tongue weight rating you'd need the new head part # RP58513 as well as two new bars part # RP58501 and new hardware kit part # RP58528 to change the tongue weight rating of your setup.
