2016 Cadillac SRX Electric Brake Controller Installation
Question:
I have taken out the left side lower dash area trying to get to the brake switch. I finally was able to get to what I assume to be the plug in brake connector. It has 7 wires that I can barely get to .Question which one is the cold side wire?

If your 2016 Cadillac SRX has the factory tow package, then a kit that doesn't require wiring under your dash like the Curt Echo # C51180 is recommended. If you don't have the factory tow package, then hardwiring a controller like the # 90885 can be done using the # ETBC7 can be used. You can still avoid the under dash wiring using the # ETBC7L with the wireless brake controller # C51180.
If you have the brake controller and want to hardwire it, then the Body Control Module (BCM) on lower left side of dash will have a violet with white tracer wire that you can tap into for the red brake light signal on your brake controller.
