How to Determine if Swagman E-Spec Can Secure Gazelle Arroyo C8 E-Bikes
Question:
Platform Bike Rack for RV and eBIke I have read many of your answers about this subject generaly and still have a question. I have a Swagman hitch platform bike rack E-SPEC BLACK ITEM 66689 on my travel trailer. It is a solid well built rack and works well for a step over mens bike. I am buying two Gazelle Arroyo C8 Elite step through e bikes. They each weigh around 60 lbs. My concern is how can I mount these two Gazelles on this rack without using a top tube adapter? If the answer is I cant, is there a platform rack rated for RV use suitable for mounting these two bikes without the top tube adapter. My concern about using the adapter is they are designed for hanging a bike rather than pulling down on the top tube. They way the top tube adapter works as I understand it is a rather loose fitting eye that fits around the seat post under the seat and under the handle bar loosely around the stem. Pulling down on the adapter seems very likely to really scratch the paint. So, there is my delimma. Hope you can help. Thanks,

From what I can tell it looks like your Swagman E-Spec Electric Bike Rack # S94FR should be able to secure the Gazelle Arroyo C8 bikes. From what I could find it looks like the lowest part of your new bikes will be 17" which should be compatible with the hooks on the E-Spec. You can verify this by placing the hooks o the E-Spec to their lowest position and making sure that they can go down to at least 17" in relation to the bottom of the wheel cradles.
