What you can do is replace the trailer wiring set up you have on your Jeep and hardwire in # HM40975-11998. This will allow you to just unplug the connector part. The wire functions and colors on this harness are a little different. Since the 7-Way part of the connector is hardwired on your Jeep, replacing the whole connector is the best way to go.
On your current set up you should have a white, brown, yellow, and green on the 4-Way, and then a black, blue, purple, and white on the 7-Way part. You would cut the connectors off of these wires and attach then to the wires on the new harness as follows:
Yellow on vehicle to red on new harness.
Whites on vehicle to white on new harness.
Blue to blue.
Green to green.
Black to black.
Brown to brown.
Purple on vehicle to yellow on new harness.
