Replacement Slipper Style Leaf Spring for 1984 Tee Nee Trailer

Question:

HI I nee to buy two replacement leaf springs for my 1984 Tee Nee trailer. The photo is obviously a photo of the broken spring. I took the dimensions from this spring. The SP-039275 has the right number of springs 3 and weight capacity 2900 lbs. The existing spring has a radius bend at the slipper, not a straight end. I am unsure if this spring will work, as the dimensions are a bit different-may affect placement of tire in fenders. I put both existing spring and prospective spring dimensions below to save you time: A, Eye to bolt/straight line: Existing 11 1/2. SP 13 5/16 B. Eye to end of slipper: E 29. SP 30 C. Eye to bolt, along metal: 12 1/2. SP 15 D. Bolt to end of slipper: 18 3/4. SP 17 3/4 E. Spring height 4 1/4. SP 4 7/8 Is this an appropriate replacement? If not, would you please recommend a replacement pair?

For your 1984 Tee Nee trailer, the number of leaf springs is not the determining factor but rather the length and the capacity rating. The 3-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Flat End for 2,900-lb Trailer Axles - 30" Long # SP-039275 is a great replacement option based on your photo as long as your axle capacity is 2900 lbs because each spring is rated for 1450 lbs.

If you have a 3,500 lb axle then instead you would want # SP-040275 because it is a higher weight rated spring. If the trailer axle is 1800 lbs, then the 2-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Flat End for 1,800-lb Trailer Axles - 30" Long # e29SR is the best fit.

The straight spring behind the slipper spring hanger should not be an issue that it is straight as the overall length is still the same.
