Yes, you can use the Thule Stacker Kayak Carrier, # TH830, on your 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe as long as the factory roof rack includes crossbars that run side to side. If your roof rack does not have crossbars, then I would recommend adding the Yakima Roof Rack, # Y00409, # Y00145, # Y03536 and # Y06006. These crossbars will attach to the flush mounted side rails and provide mounting points for the kayak carrier.

The cargo bag that I would recommend for you is the Thule Outbound Roof Top Cargo Bag, # TH868. This is a weather resistant cargo bag with 13 cubic feet of storage space. This cargo bag has straps that attach to the crossbars of your roof rack. I have attached a video of this cargo bag for you to check out. If you want a cargo bag with more storage space, then you may want to look at the Thule Interstate Cargo Bag, # TH869, which has up to 17 cubic feet of storage space.

One thing to keep in mind with cargo bags is that they are water or weather resistant, not water proof. To be waterproof, the bag would have to be able to be submerged in water without allowing water to penetrate into the bag. With zippers and sewn seams the bag is not capable of being submerged.

By weather resistant the maker of the bag is saying that under normal conditions the bag will keep the contents dry, but under sever weather conditions some water may enter the bag. Any valuable items that need to be kept dry such as electronics, paper products, or clothing should be protected by plastic bags before being loaded in the bag.

You may also be interested in the Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad, # RL100650. This pad will keep your bag from sliding back and forth on your roof when you brake and accelerate and reduce the possibility of scratches from debris that builds up under the bag.
