Recommendation for Installing the Redarc BCDC Battery Charger for Truck Bed Camper

Question:

2014 GMC 3500 Diesel Dually, 2 batteries using a 990 Arctic Fox truck camper. Im confused as to how/where you connect this to the truck so the trucks alternators charge the campers batteries. Is it thru the 7 way plug? A separate plug?

For your 2014 GMC 3500 the second battery does require a charger like the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 40 Amp # 331-BCDC1240D which is a great option. This is a customer favorite as well as a personal favorite but it does require cables, fuses # 331-FK60, and connectors sold separately. I recommend using the Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit for ATV/UTV Winches - 120" Long Power Lead # BDW20307 which does have the connectors as well. I've attached some videos to assist.

The cables and fuses we already discussed are all you need. So in addition to the BCDC # 331-BCDC1240D you will want the fuses # 331-FK60 and the cables # BDW20307. The ground cable will connect to the frame of your in-bed camper ideally where the second battery is stored. If you will be storing the second battery on the vehicle chassis instead, then you will run the ground connection to your vehicle frame. The quick connections with the cable make this easy to use either way.
