Recommended Trailer Hitch and Towing Accessories for 2018 Toyota RAV4  

Question:

I have a 2018 Rav 4 Adventure with increased towing capacity of 350 lb toungue weight and 3500 overall. I’m in need of the best hitch available. Combined weight is 800 lb bike with 800 lb trailer = approx 1600 lbs. What do you recommend?

All the Class III hitches available for your RAV4 meet the 350 lb TW/3500 GTW figures, so as far as the necessary capacity goes, any of them would meet your needs perfectly.

I'd recommend going with the hitch that'll look best on the vehicle once it's installed which would be the Curt Class III, part # C13406 which is a fit for all models of the 2018 RAV4. The hitch installs so that the crossbar is concealed behind the rear bumper with the only visible portion of the hitch being the receiver tube and the safety chain loops.

You can see the huge difference in appearance between this hitch and the fully exposed # C13149 in the provided photo.

In addition to the hitch, you'll need a wiring harness like # 118578, a ball mount used in the rise position like # D-28 and a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball like # 19260 or # 63845 for a 2 inch. You'll also need a # PC3 hitch pin.
