How to Find the Reverse Light on a 2010 Toyota Highlander to Wire in a 5-Way
Question:
To Whom It May Concern: I currently have a 4 pole harness and need to change over to a 5 flat as I just bought a boat with a trailer that has surge brakes. I was planning on splicing a new 5 flat line into the old 4 pole simply alighning colors and then splicing the 5 line into what I understand should be the reverse light line. Can you please tell me the color and location of that line in a 2010 Toyota Highlander? In advance, thank you for your time and efforts.

What you plan on doing to convert your 4-way to a 5-way is the correct way to do it. If you need a 5-way you could get a Hopkins Endurance 5-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM47900.
To find the reverse light circuit in your 2010 Toyota Highlander you will want to use the wiring that goes to the reverse light sockets. I do not know the color of the wire, but if you use a circuit tester to check the wiring, like our circuit tester part # PTW2993, for voltage when the vehicle is put in reverse you will know which wire to use.
