Will the Curt Friction Sway Control for Weight Distribution Systems Work On a 7K Lb Trailer
Question:
Is the Curt # C17201 Sway Control Ball and Plate sturdy enough for a 25 foot 7000 lb trailer? Im concerned with the small plate and only 4 holes its not strong enough. I have the PRO Series 1000lb WDH system. Thanks.

Expert Reply:
The Curt Friction Sway Control for Weight Distribution Systems part # 17200 will work just fine on a 7,000 lb trailer although based on the weight it is recommend to use two units, one on each side. The smaller footprint of the mounting plate won't be any sort of hindrance as it is not after all going to be supporting the full weight of the trailer. There also won't be any issues using this unit with a Reese Weight Distribution System.
