Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2004 GMC Yukon XL
Question:
Ive found a trailer hitch on your site for my 2004 Yukon XL. My suv did not come with factory towing option. Can you recommend the necessary wiring so that I will have brake lights? Thanks.

I recommend pairing the Curt Trailer Hitch # C15324 with the wiring # C59496 for your 2004 GMC Yukon XL. The wiring is for the basic trailer lighting functions which includes trailer brake lights. Please note that the hitch (or any hitch for your vehicle) will not fit if you have the EPA canister mounted on the passenger side frame rail.
The last thing you need to complete your towing setup is a ball mount and for that I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise/4” drop, a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You will want to refer to the attached ball mount article to ensure that this kit is correct for your towing application.
