How To Swap From Surge to Electric Brakes On 6 Lug Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a boat trailer 6 lug hydraulic brakes and I want to switch them to electric do you have a kit

In order to switch from hydraulic brakes to electric brakes on a boat trailer you will need a few items. The first of which are the braking assemblies which will be based on the axle capacity. Most 6 lug hubs will be for 5,200 lb - 7,000 lb axles and if this is what you have then you can use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-7-SA. If you currently have drum brakes then you can reuse the hub/drum but if not you will need the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K which is also for 5,200 lb - 7,000 lb axles but you will need to verify the grease seal first.
In order to complete the swap you'll also need the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit part # HS381-9000 and Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit part # 20400.
