In order for the hitch pin holes to line up on the Curt Hitch Extender for 2" Trailer Hitches part # C45795, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the receiver tube on the vehicle must be no more than 3". If it is then you'd have to go with a different option like the Hitch Extender For 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver 14" Long part # HE12 which will allow for up to 4-1/2".
In regards to being wobbly, that is sort of the nature of adding an extra connection but this can be reduced with a device like the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches part # RM-061.
