4-Way to 5-Way Adapter Installation on Toyota Highlander

I’m looking for help with taking the factory installed 4 pole and installing a 5 pole in order to use a boat trailer with brakes. Suggestions? Thanks.

I do have suggestions on what you need to do to install a 4-way to 5-way adapter, the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036.

I have added a link to a video which shows this part being installed on a Toyota Highlander, and what you need to do is splice the blue wire into the reverse light. This will involve finding that wire and this will require a helper for the functions as well as a circuit tester such as the Cordless Circuit Tester # PTW2979.
