Hitch Recommendation for my 2016 BMW X3 to Haul an Airstream Bambi.
Question:
I have a 2016 BMW X3 Xdrive 28d. It has a OEM BMW hitch with elec connections and rated at 3500 GVWR and 350 Tongue Weight. I would like to buy an Airstream Bambi it has a Load Requirement of 3500 GVWR and 430 Tongue Weight. Can you suggest what would be the best option?

You have the option of removing the factory hitch and installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76226 this allows for up to 5000 GWVR and a 750 lb tongue weight rating which is plenty for the camper.
I must insist though that you see what your vehicle is rated for. Hopefully it is rated slightly higher than the factory hitch and can handle the weight of your desired camper. If it is not rated higher then you should look at a different camper with lighter tongue weight so it will fall within the vehicles capabilities. Or a vehicle with the capabilities to haul the camper.
There are no bolt on products that raise your vehicle weight rating. Any upgrades we make to a vehicle for hauling are made to take stress and strain off of the vehicle to prevent wear and tear and increase driveability.

I just purchased the Stealth Hitch from etrailer which has a 6000 GTW and 500 TW. Unfortunately, my owners manual does not provide data on on Trailer loads. So I will do my best to keep in the 3500/350 range of the OEM hitch. But its nice to have the benefit of a more robust hitch nevertheless.
