Compatibility of 8 Inch Hitch Extension with 4 Bike Rack on 2020 Jeep Wrangler for Spare TIre

Question:

If I put an 8” hitch extension on this rack will I be able to fold the rack up against the spare tire, oversized, for a 2020 Jeep Wrangler freedom edition?

The Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Platform Style # S64665 has a measurement of 3-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier. Adding a 8 inch extension like # e88YR will allow you to use this with your spare tire on your 2020 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition. The extension will reduce your hitch tongue weight capacity by 50% which likely won't be an issue with a bike rack but you will need to include the weight of the rack as well as the weight of the bikes loaded.

If you measure 11-1/2 inches from your hitch pin hole of your receiver you will be able to determine how much clearance that gives you on your spare tire.
