Recommended Weight Distribution System for Forest River R-Pod with 450 Lb Tongue Weight

Question:

I am pulling an rpod with 438 tongue weight with a 218 Honda pilot. The pilot has a class 3 hitch 500 tw and 5000 tow capacity. 2inch hitch ball. Id like a weight distribution bar with anti-sway and Im looking for recommendations. Easy to follow, thorough instructions, easy install. Id like to back up without disconnecting, and something that doesnt sacrifice too much ground clearance. Ive spotted the Curt TruTrack 800 lb and like the set up, but will that be too rigid? Also spotted the Reese Steady Flex 6K GTW and 600TW, which seems more appropriate to my weight.

The Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System part # RP66558 and Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17499 are both excellent options for a Forest River R-Pod. In regards to weight, you'll get the best performance out of the system when you fall in the middle of the tongue weight rating range. Therefore, the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight will be the best option. There are really very little differences between the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight and Curt TruTrack as they both have trunnion springs bars so will offer good ground clearance and they allow for reversing but the trailer needs to be relativity straight.

Please note, you will also need the 2" Hitch Ball part # 63845 for the Reese Steadi-Flex.
