Routing 12 Volt Circuit to Convert 4-Way Trailer Connector to 7-Way for Curt Echo Brake Controller
Question:
2002NissanFrontier XE crewcab V6. Can you please advise how to wire the 12volt black wire to my truck battery. Ive watched the videos about this 4pole to 7pole+4pole adapter but none of them show how to install the black 12volt line to a 30amp or 40amp breaker from battery. All they do is bundle up the blue, black and purple wires and stash away after connecting the 4 pole. I also purchased the Curt Echo wireless break controller in order to tow my Forest River E-Pro trailer and the instructions said to install the 30amp breaker. Any videos, pictures and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I linked an article on routing the power wire that you might find helpful. I've also linked a video from when we installed our part # ETBC7 on a Jeep Wrangler. The # ETBC7 is our kit of a 4-way to 7-way adapter and all the wiring and circuit breakers needed to finish the install. You purchased part # 37185 which just included the adapter itself but if you already have the additional wiring and breaker that's fine too. If not you can use our # 10-1-1 for the wire and # 9510 for the breaker.
The routing on the Jeep obviously won't be identical to your Frontier but the process is the same. You need to find a route to get the wire from the connector to the engine bay. Also, the video uses duplex wire because for that install we needed to run both the blue and black wires. Since you're using the Echo brake controller, part # C51180 you only need to run the black wire and the blue can be capped off.
