Do I Need to Modify the Trailer Height After Getting 2" Lift On Truck To Tow Level

Question:

I’ve installed a 2” LP Aventure lift on my 2017 2.5L OB and tow a Harbor Freight heavy duty folding trailer. Do I need to make any upgrades to the trailer to adjust for the 2” lift on the vehicle?

For a 2" lift on the 2017 Outback Wagon you should not need to do any adjustments to the trailer to tow level because 2" is minimal. You may need to switch out ball mount to a ball mount with more of a drop if your hitch height has increased. I recommend to measure from the top of the hitch receiver to the ground. Then measure from the bottom of the trailer coupler to the ground. The difference in those two measurements is how much drop you need to tow level. We recommend to be within 2" of level to tow the trailer safely. I recommend to use an adjustable ball mount like part # C45900 that gives you up to 6" of drop with either a 2" or 2-5/16" ball. This should provide enough drop for you, if not I have attached a link of our ball mounts.
