Where is Brake Controller Adapter Plug Located In 2002 Dodge Ram Pickup
Question:
Hello. I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. I have a 7 pin tow connector in back. I cant seem to find the wires or adapter under my dash to hook up a brake controller. Can you help me? If this is the right picture I was wondering if the Curt brake controller would work on this one? Or can I choose another brake controller I like?

The green connector in your truck is not the correct plug. It is normally a blue plug like what I have shown in the photo that plugs into the adapter part # C51332 if you are using a Curt brake controller like part # C51170. There will be a port to plug into if the truck came with a factory 7-way plug just to the right of the emergency brake.
If the 7-way plug was installed after-market, you will need to see how far the wires from the plug are extended so you can complete the install with part # 5506.
I am not sure which Curt brake controller you are referring to but if you are referring to the Curt Echo brake controller that plugs in line with your 7-way plug part # C51180 all that you need is the 7-way plug to have active turn/stop, running light and 12V circuits. The Curt Echo only requires these functions on the 7-Way plug to function so you may consider using the Echo because it is much easier compared to finding the wires.
