How Much Clearance is Needed From Boat for Roller-Style Guide-Ons

Question:

I have an 2005 Alumacraft 175 CS navigator I want to put CE Smith roller guides on. How much clearance do I need on each side? My boat appears to be wider in the center than in the stern. I dont want to mount the guides too close for fear of the boat not having enough clearance to launch. Thanks.

You don't need much clearance at all, maybe a few inches for the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27610.

You can mount these at different widths to ensure you have a good distance from your boat while still being close enough to allow the guide-ons to help you when you are loading the boat on your trailer. These guide-ons fit frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall, but if your frame is up to 3" wide x 5-1/4" tall you you will need the CE Smith Extra-Long U-Bolt Kit for Boat Trailer Guide-Ons # CE11416.

I have added links to video reviews for you to check out as well of the long U-bolts and the CE Smith Roller-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27610.
