Cushioned Equalizer Replacement for EQ356

Question:

I am wanting to upgrade my leaf spring suspension that has lost its arch. 1st I am wondering about one of the equalizer mine is al-ko eq356. Can that be replacesd with the Road Armour lc696740? I dont believe I have been overloading the trailer , but I could be wrong. I pull with a ram2500 with airbags. trailer is 2010 27bhs outback and occasionally pull tandem trailer for toys. We only camp in the national forest and have some very long bad roads to get to our remote campsites. I am just thinking between tandem trailers and bad roads over time the springs are taking a beating. I had hoped the equalizer might help spare the new springs some early damage. I have 3500 tandem axles round 3inch. Can I upgrade the springs to more heavy duty to work with the equalizers? I am currently look at the following items : sp-111275 x 4,ce23003 x2, lc696740, lc281285. This would be the max on my budget. I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate any suggestions. thanks

The Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit part # LC696740 will be an exact replacement for an EQ356 Equalizer. These cushioned equalizers will do an excellent job of helping absorb road shock therefore providing a smoother ride and reducing the wear/tear on the trailer. In regards to replacing the leaf springs, it is recommend to use ones which match the capacity of the axle. If you were to go with a higher rated set you'd have a bouncier ride although this is possible. That said, the cushioned equalizers will help preserve the life of your leaf springs.

Please note, 10 years for a set of leaf springs is quite a long time so you did get your moneys worth.
