Will the Thule OutWay 2-Bike Rack Scratch the Paint

Question:

Trunk damage? Anything I could put under the legs to prevent damage. A tape?? I have a very nice car and have been carrying my bike on backseat breaking it down every time.

The Thule OutWay 2-Bike Rack part # TH45JV is an excellent, premium trunk mount bike rack option. It has coated hooks/cables as well as a rubberized base all of which are designed to protect the vehicle's surface from scratches. Therefore, you won't need to use any additional pads for protection and I actually recommend against this as it could cause the bike rack to shift which would then create a chance for
damage to occur.

I do however recommend making surface the surface is clean prior to installing.
