Replacement Options for Reliable Brand Surge Brake Actuator ACT-7.5K

Question:

I have a 2008 Mastercraft boat trailer with the Reliable ACT-7.5K surge brake system. Reliable no longer builds this unit or supplies parts. Do you have a cross referenced master cylinder that would work in this Reliable system part # MC-001M? Also, do you have the bushings for this system part #ACT-6K-23? I takes 6 for this system. Thanks for your help.

I have a solution to get your Mastercraft boat trailer up and running again, but unfortunately we don't have a cross reference chart for parts for Reliable surge brake actuators. Manufacturers of surge brake couplers simply didn't make these parts universal at all and finding replacement parts for a Reliable actuator will not be easy.

The most compatible solution we can provide is replacing the actuator entirely with the Titan Brake Actuator, # T63FR, if you have drum brakes or # 099-175-20 if you have disc brakes. These couplers match the specs of your existing coupler and will require the least amount of modification to your trailer to install. You will have to cut off the coupler that is currently welded to the folding tongue and either weld or bolt these couplers on.

If you prefer to look for the replacement parts, your best bet will probably be to find someone willing to sell parts off of a trailer or other Reliable actuator. Reliable has been out of this game for a little while now and the likelihood of any of their dealers still having replacement parts isn't very high. I can tell you that the Demco master cylinder that you originally looked at has not been tested or confirmed to fit a Reliable actuator.
