Parts Needed for 7 Way Connector to Put on 17 Foot Long Food Truck

Question:

Hopkins 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector - 11foot Long Item # HM20048 I was looking for a set of wire for my food trailer 17 ft long. I have my 2007 Tundra as the tower which I already have the prodigy pulling system on it. All I want to do is to find the wire harness which I can use to connect to that system I have on my truck to pull it. Now, can I use the wire you have above on your website to connect to it and wire it to the tail light system on my truck? Also, can I have a 20 ft long instead of 11 ft long on it? Please could I have someone to respond to me? Thanks

It sounds like you're looking for a 7 way trailer side connector. The Hopkins # HM20048 you were looking at is going to be 11 feet long, so it's not quite what you're looking for. The longest 7 way trailer side connector we have available is the 18 foot long Bargman # 50-67-106, which will connect to the 7 way connector on your 2007 Toyota Tundra. If you need to, you can make up any distance you need to on your food trailer with either 10 gauge wiring # 10-1-1 or 12 gauge wiring # 12-1-1; you'll also need 2 wire 12 gauge wiring for the brakes, so you'll want to use # 12-2-1 to wire those up to the plug those wires are not present.

I would also recommend wiring everything into a junction box like the Trailer Wiring Junction Box # 3375601101, which is color coded to provide you with a nice, clean installation.

I've also linked our helpful article on wiring a 7 way connector that has some diagrams that you might find helpful in this task.
