What Rotor Sizes Does Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Fit

Question:

Hi Kyle, I have 1-3/8" L68149 & 1-1/16" L44649 bearings. 9.6 inch rotor, 5 lug with a 3500 lb axle. Also one side seems to bolt up to the existing bracket but other seems to not. Could be rotor? Can you tell me which rotor will fit? Thank You

The Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # KDBC225DAC is only designed to fit 10" or 12" rotors, and it looks like the Tie Down 46304 may be for 9.6" rotors, so the fit may be off due to that. There isn't any type of new mounting bracket available, and the best option we have is for you to get a new hub and rotor assembly, as we don't carry Tie Down parts and this may not be an exact fit otherwise.

For that you need to know the weight rating of your axle, your hub's wheel bolt pattern, and also what bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them.

For example, the Kodiak 10" Hub-and-Rotor Assembly # KHR10D is for a 3,500 lb axle, uses inner bearing # L68149, outer bearing # L44649 and has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.

If you do not know what your bolt pattern is I have added a help article which details how you can find it, as well as a printable bolt hole template you can use. If you get back to me with this information I'd be happy to try and help you find the correct hub, and I've also added a link to our selection of hubs for you to check out.

Thanks for that info and we do have the correct rotor for you, which is the one I had given an example of previously, the Kodiak 10" Hub-and-Rotor Assembly - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # KHR10D. This uses the same bearings you mentioned, so it will fit your spindle, and because it is a 10" rotor, should be a better fit for your caliper, which is designed for that size rotor.
