How To Lift a 36 Foot Long Bumper Pull Trailer

Question:

What do I need to do to get my 36ft bumper pull over a Corp of engineers levy It’s a gravel road tightly packed. The levy itself is approximately 7ft tall 7ft across. A p/u truck and 20ft boat goes over but I’m 99 sure the trailer will drag on rear end.

It sounds like you are needing to lift a trailer in order to help gain ground clearance when going over steep bumps or dips in a road. If that is the case then I have a few options for you. That said, these options will only work if you have leaf spring axles. If the leaf springs are located under the axle tube and the axle tube is circular then you can flip the springs to the top of the axle tube with the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit part # K71-384-00 for 2-3/8" diameter axles or part # K71-385-00 for 3" diameter axles. These kits will raise the trailer equal to the diameter of the axle tube plus the height of the leaf spring stack.

If you don't have circular axles or you don't need that much of a lift, the Tandem Axle Lift Kit part # RR23QX is our next best option which provide 2-1/4" of lift.
