What is Minimum Trailer Tire to Fender Clearance

Question:

I am planning a tear trailer build, I have a all aluminum 46inch x 8foot trailer single axle and 13inch tires, the total weight will be around 1500 lbs. How much clearance do I need between the tire and top of fender? Thanks

Generally speaking you will want to have 3 inches minimum from the top of your tire to the fender of your trailer to accommodate for suspension travel. Having a little more wouldn't hurt, but I wouldn't recommend any less than 3 inches. Typical spring deflection is 1-1/2 inches.

I attached a link to a page that has all of the fenders we offer as well.
