Is It Normal For Replacement Pin Box To Measure Narrower Than Brackets on Trailer

Question:

In your description video you are calling out the width at 12. When our pin box arrived it is 11 13/16inch wide. This is 3/16inch narrower. The frame members where it attaches is a heavy 12, the 1621 HD pin box Im replacing is 12. Is it going to put stress on the frame or any welds bolting this in and drawing the sides in over a 1/16inch on each side?

The 11-13/16" wide measurement on the Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box part # LC158778 that replaces the 1621 HD pin box is standard. I was able to confirm this with the engineers at Lippert. Once you torque the bolts down the brackets on the trailer will pull in and that is completely normal. It will not put stress on the frame, replacement pin boxes are made to be a bit narrower then your brackets on the trailer so they can easily fit into place while installing. Otherwise you would have a hard time fitting the pin box between the brackets while installing. I have attached a very helpful installation video of this Trailair Pin box for your reference.
