Will the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Work On a Short Bed Truck

Hello I have a superduty short box and a grand design fifth wheel camper. I use the pull rite slider hitch as of now. But I don’t like that it takes up the bed. Want to know if and one has tried the goose neck gen-y hitch with a short box and if camper will hit the cap ? Or is there enough room? Thanks

The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Pin Box part # 325-GH-8045 is an excellent replacement pin box option that works to help smooth the ride and decrease wear/tear on both the trailer and tow vehicle. In regards to compatibility with a short bed truck, yes this is possible. That said, the amount of turning clearance you have once installed can be limited but how much will come down to the exact truck/trailer combo.
In order to determine how much clearance you will have, you need to use the formula below:
(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from center of gooseneck opening to truck cab
B = Distance from center of coupler to trailer nose (+/-)
C = Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)
The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Pin Box measures 18-3/4" from the front set of vertical bolt holes on the trailer wings to the center of the coupler.
