What is the Quietest Pintle Hook and Mount for 2-1/2 Inch Hitch

Question:

I use my dump trailer once per week, alot of time while running with sleeping kids in the truck. I like the articulation of the pintle off road. What is the quietest 2-1/2 inch pintle available? I know this sounds silly, but thanks in advance.

It doesn't sound silly at all, and there is an option for the quietest pintle hook and mount, the Curt Secure Latch.

The reason it is considered quieter is because the hook is designed to ensure tighter security on a lunette ring than any other pintle hook. That, along with its auto-latch when the ring is in the hook, are what separates this from other hooks in terms of noise. Will it be totally silent? No. But it will reduce the amount of play inside the ring, which is where most of the noise you hear when towing with a pintle comes from.
